Hi, I’m Maarit. I’m a third-generation Ukrainian-Canadian cook, artist and writer living in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Treaty 1 territory. Preserving my culture in in my kitchen and around my table is incredibly important to me; whether it’s traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations of our ancestors, or modern interpretations of Ukrainian food. My recipes are centered around my cultural roots, a respect for the land, and the Ukrainian-Canadian diaspora experience in the Prairies.
